Jobmob - Helping you find the right Job in Israel!

If you've been jobhunting recently or are thinking about changing what your doing right now, someone you absolutly should get to know is Jacob Share, author of Jobmob.co.il a website which helps you find the right job in Israel, where the right connection is everything..

1. Give us a little background info about you, how long have you been involved in the online marketing industry?

I began posting on JobMob in December of 2006. In terms of personal branding, that site is the easiest way to recognize my work on the Web.

2. Now share the real dirt about you.

I put up my first website in 1994 when I was at McGill University in Montreal. It was called Jacob’s RocketLink & Glut. I still have the code.

3. What two websites do you visit everyday, other than your own and why?

There are at least a dozen websites that I visit everyday, and my RSS reader follows over 200 feeds (too many, but it was double that at one point). The sites I visit the most are tools like Gmail or FeedBurner.

4. Tell us about your current project JobMob.co.il and what's the idea or motivation behind it?

JobMob is about socially-assisted job hunting. There are always people looking for work, and there are an amazing number of people who are interested in helping them. The goal of JobMob is to bring them all together now.

5. Can you give us an Idea of what the Israeli Job Market is like at this time?

Thankfully, overall the market is hot and there are many opportunities for job hunters, and that’s not just in hitech. Follow JobMob for more details J

6. What single most important tip would you give to the Israeli Job Seeker?

Do your homework/know your audience. For example, when you’re sending a CV, tailor it for the targeted company. If you’re invited to an interview, prepare answers that show you’re familiar with the organization. In Israel people “wing it” almost by rule, so it’ll be very memorable when you do things differently.

7. What has been your biggest professional achievement?
I’m still proud of the role I played in building and launching Amazon.fr in 2000, and of the success I had creating a development team at my last company.

8. If I was walking into a Job Interview right now, what should I be thinking about in the back of my mind?

You should be thinking about intellectual honesty with yourself and your interviewer. It’s tempting to give answers you think they want to hear, but that will lead you to an unhappy job or worse, back to the job hunt in only a few months. On the other hand, if the
interviewer is satisfied when you’re completely truthful, you may be on the way to your dream job.

Jacob it was a pleasure talking to you. I'm sure you've pointed many people in the right direction and if they need any more job seeking advice, they now know where to start looking. jobmob.co.il
